Summer of 2009: The year I first discovered volunteering with Summer in the City. The year I fell in love with Detroit.
With each year that has followed I return to the city to continue to play with the Summer in the City campers and create everlasting memories.
Being able to brighten up a child’s day by playing tag or duck, duck, goose has brought me running back each and every day. I hope to have made a long lasting impression on their lives just as each and every camper as made one in mine.

The month of August always leads me to think of one sad day: SITC’s last huzzah of the summer. This year we want to make it the best yet. And how can we make this happen? The answer is simple: MOONWALK! Wherever there’s a moonwalk, there’s sure to be a good time.
