A sunny day in 2008: Greeted at a carpool site by unfamiliar faces and sent off to paint a mural of a sun. By the end of the day, I couldn’t stop thinking about how awesome it was, how nice the staff was, and how I couldn’t wait to return the next day (and the day after that and the day after that…).
I’ve been hooked ever since. Not only have I met amazing people and created long-lasting friendships through SITC, but I’ve also grown to love, appreciate, and respect Detroit. I can’t think of a better way to spend my summers in Michigan – and I bet that you can’t either!
