For the past three years, I’ve been studying art at U of M. Although I love making art, I want to do more than just create pieces for myself. I want to reach out to those in need, and make a difference in their community using art. I want to make a real impact through my creativity, and that’s where Summer in the City comes in.
I’m not from Michigan, and my knowledge and discovery of Detroit is just starting to blossom. From the interactions I’ve had with Detroit so far, I can already tell what an incredible, resilient, admirable city and community it is. This will be my first year with Summer in the City, and through mural painting I want to connect with Detroit youth and help beautify a city that deserves a little love.
I come equipped with a smile, a helping hand, and a paintbrush, and I’m ready to begin!

With SITC-sourced murals in high demand, our breadth and scope of design are growing. In support of Get Fresh Detroit, we will be painting murals of fruits and vegetables at corner stores and community pantries to help Detroiters find the best places to access fresh produce. Help Project Paint create a feast for the eyes and donate today!
